- Treat your weapon purposefully. Do not handle your weapon carelessly or disinterestedly. Use everyday activities to reinforce good motor patterns.
- With all due respect to the cliché, but the pistol is just a tool. The operator must be the weapon. Train your brain before training your shot.
- Do not neglect safety rules. Especially when treating every weapon as if it were loaded.
- Do not mix sport shooting with combat shooting. One thing is one thing, another thing is another thing.
- Keep your equipment maintained. Clean your weapon regularly.
- Use good ammunition. Putting adulterated fuel in a Lamborghini won’t help.
- Do not let the law affect your safety. There are no laws in effect when your life is at risk.
- Train. More than just training, train correctly. Training incorrectly can be worse than no training.
- Improve and practice your situational awareness and combat mindset daily.
- Don’t put the cart before the horse. First, you learn to stand, then to walk, then to run.
I’ve learned a lot with this post! Gonna improve my handling with these tips from now on.
